NAME OF CHARACTER: Kasumi Tendo ANIME SERIES: Ranma 1/2 COSTUME STATUS: 100% made by Claudine Roselle Puente COSTUME DEBUT: Fanime Con 2001 DETAILS: After watching the Ranma OVA series, I noticed that Kasumi and Ukyo more or less have the same hair color.  I figured, what the heck.  I should try a Kasumi costume.  Now, at the time, I saw too many Kasumi cosplayers wearing the yellow top and magenta skirt.  Well... that, and plus the fact that I don't like yellow with magenta.  My favorite color is blue, so I decided to make the baby blue dress that she wore in the OVA series (the one with the pink apron). :) The fabric I used for this dress was a baby blue light crepe.  Mind you, I had absolutely no pattern for the dress, so I had to go by the picture and by my visual memory.   As I looked closely at the photo, I noticed that her sleeves were puffed, but scrunched at the ends.  Having said that, I used elastic at the end of the sleeves.  The top of the dress looked scrunched also; therefore, another elastic method was brought into the dress.  The pink fabric used for the apron is 65% polyester and 35% cotton, along with red ribbon for the red design.  To top things off, the hair ribbon is actually scrunchie I made, with a bow added to it; the fabric for both the bow and the scrunchie is pink crepe (in the above photo, that is a pink chiffon scarf I wore, only because I carelessly left the scrunchie/ bow at home). :p  The shoes I wear for the costume are the ones I use for Sailor Mars.
