NAME OF CHARACTER: Sailor Mars ANIME SERIES: Sailor Moon COSTUME STATUS: 30% made by Claudine Roselle Puente, 70% made Ana Vilma Arevalo COSTUME DEBUT: Fanime Con 2000 DETAILS: It was not my idea to be Sailor Mars.  I don't even like Sailor Mars to tell you the truth, and I'm not even ashamed to say it, either.  I think she's very mean towards Usagi, not to mention sometimes bossy towards the other sailor senshi.  JoAnne was the one who suggested that I dress up as Sailor Mars.  This was way before Senshi Mysterious came into existence.  I basically did this for JoAnne, but as the year of 2000 progressed, I was getting sick of the costume. :p Okay, the costume wasn't entirely made by me.  Mom suggested that I should ask my Aunt Vilma for help on the costume, since my college studies were more important at the time.  Both JoAnne and I went to the fabric place together so our costumes would look... more or less identical (she was working on Sailor Neptune).  The costume was entirely made of baroque satin... unless you wanna count the back bow. :p  I knew I bought enough fabric for the back bow.  Unfortunately, my little cousin Gabriel used the rest of the red satin fabric for his own thing. *groans*  Therefore, another trip to the fabric store for me.  More bad news.  The place ran out of red baroque satin, and what made matters worse was, I had only two days before Fanime Con 2000 took place.  So, what was left?  As I wandered around the store, I came across this section that had this red fabric (100% polyester).  The colors more or less matched the costume.  I said, "it isn't perfect, but it'll have to do." :p  Last, but not least are the three strands of red ribbon added to the long white gloves. :)
