NAME OF CHARACTER: Ukyo Kuonji ANIME SERIES: Ranma 1/2 COSTUME STATUS: Modified COSTUME DEBUT: Fanime Con 1999 DETAILS: A lot of people remember me as Ukyo Kuonji.  There is not one California convention that I attend where I will not have an attendee come up to me and say, "I remember you!  You dressed up as Ukyo Kuonji!"  But then again, what veteran Fanime Con attendee could ever forget the Ukyo who yelled out the word "jackass" on stage? Okay, I am NOT going to take full credit for this costume.  If you really wanna know how this was made... let's just say that this costume is very ghetto.  I kid you not.  First of all, I bought the blue kimono sometime back in either 1996 or 1997 (I don't remember specifically), and I added a long white t-shirt underneath, for the trim on the sleeves and the bottom of the kimono.  The sash is made of felt.  Although I added 7 pockets to the sash, I decided that I should have only three spatulas in it.  The white bandoliers are old white nylons (hey, it works). :p  The pants I wear are bikers; to add more emphasis on the legs and feet, I wore black legwarmers, and black leather Keds shoes.  Last, but not least, the giant spatula (which is not pictured here) is made of two plastic silver trays, and the end is a spray painted wooden dowel.  I need to replace that wooden dowel with a sturdy yardstick. :p
